2 min readMay 3, 2021

If you have recently received a message from us that your store has been added to SokoLocal, welcome!

SokoLocal is a product search engine that allows shoppers to easily find, shop and support local businesses — like yours!

How does it work?

SokoLocal is a product search engine that allows shoppers to browse products from shops and retailers. However, we prioritize local. The products listed on the site are all from local businesses from cities across Canada and the USA. Our goal is to encourage people to shop locally and support our small business communities.

Are you selling my products?

No, SokoLocal does not sell your products or take transactions. Similar to Google, we are a product search engine that displays products in results and sends shoppers directly to your site to complete a purchase. We do not take commission or charge service fees.

How did I get listed on SokoLocal?

Again, like Google, we index and catalogue your products. If you’re listed on SokoLocal that means that your site was compatible with our search engine. For more information, click here.

Do I have to pay to be listed on SokoLocal?

Nope! SokoLocal is completely free to use for both businesses and shoppers. To learn more about how we make money, click here.

My product information or pricing is wrong on SokoLocal

All products are displayed as they are on your site. Please check your website and product information. If you have recently made an update to a product, please allow a few days for our site to refresh your content. In the rare case that the product information or pricing on our site does not match yours, contact us– we’d be happy to help!

Who created SokoLocal?

SokoLocal was created by MQLabs– a tech company from Calgary that creates digital products for companies all over the world. When the pandemic hit, we began thinking about how to make things better for local businesses and SokoLocal was born.

I’ve been added to SokoLocal. What next?

We’ll take it from here! We’re adding new features for businesses soon, so keep an eye out on our social media channels and blog for updates. For now, you can share your SokoLocal listing on your social media.
